Many athletes use heart monitors also in their careers so they can properly pace. A fuel belt is also an excellent choice. A chafing fuel is made to "balance" the drink bearing the athlete during training or a career. The belt attaches around the waist and has 4 or 6 small pockets size containers of liquid. They are placed strategically throughout the body to allow balance and ease of use. These are much better than a bottle of heavy water beginning to weigh heavy on the late stages of a race that is widening unease. Each triathlete must bring a hat for sun protection and agree with you could add some sunscreen to go along with the cap.
