I bought a new bike at the weekend after months of slathering over the GT Avalanche Expert I went to another store and fell to a Giant XTC 4.5 2008 that came into a lot cheaper with all the spec I wanted.

As I cycle about 10 miles a day through the country, I needed something that was lighter than rigid frame I usually use, I had hydraulic disc brakes (to avoid accumulation of mud and leaves my breaks V) and the front suspension (to reduce the amount of shock my wrists were received)

I need to replace the standard tires that came with the bike Trailraker 2.1 Panaracer tires. I Will be testing it on my normal route tomorrow, but Trailraker the 2.1 's would be fantastic on the mud that I deal with (many horses on the track as I am).

Alteration other pedals on the bike for all sealed (the name escapes me, but I'll add at some point) they were simply very smooth, should reduce the overall resistance.

The guy I spoke at the workshop said that I'll probably be in and out of the shop very frequently, as the mechs and pedals will be immersed in water often covered with crud. It is an ideal way to create a substance grinding for all these moving parts. Alas, it seems that many manufacturers are from regions where its dry most of the time they do not really consider the half submerged nature of cycling in British off-road.

I'm not saying my way is the most normal, as I wear wellies the work cycle (the water comes to my ankles when I am cycling through the ruts filled with water), but for people like me who use actually their bikes every day for fitness, transportation and entertainment, grinding ground substance and grass filled mechs make the price a bike higher.

I wash the bike every day (not with a pressure washer because it grows only in the muck of bicycles working parts) and I still ongoing (weekly) take pieces apart to remove grinding Goo. I know you might say why do you not the road, but have you seen some people who went there, and it adds an extra 4 miles on my trip. It is true that if I was in all spandex, techno Clothing and road bikes Cervelo space age I'm sure he would be a dream, but I'm a little more grunge with my helmet BMX, ski gloves and boots on.

Will keep you informed of how Trailrakers Panaracer do and give you a whole gist of what the Giant XTC 4.5 2008 towers similar. I am 6 foot and it was a big part that looks and feels right, but I wonder if I need a little shorter, a raised the rod (i just need to move to the new bike).

Anyway the point i wanted to make is that if you have any bike experience that you would like to share send me an e-mail and if I do not feel like you are trying to Sell your stuff ill put them on my blog.

Giant XTC 4.5 2008 [http://ridersbritain.co.uk/2008/11/giant-xtc-45-2008-the-riding-begins] is a great bike, not as light or fancy as a Cervelo road bike but for off road I’m looking forward to finding out if it cuts the mustard.
